    Skoda Auto Volkswagen India has promoted Rahul Dabi to deputy general manager – human resources and people services. The elevation comes after a strong track record in HR strategy, digital transformation, and people initiatives across the automotive and manufacturing sectors.

    Dabi has been with Skoda Auto Volkswagen India for over six years. He started as a chief manager human resource & administration in October 2019 and was later promoted to assistant general manager – human resource and people services. The promotion saw him leading led HR business partnering, talent management, and culture programmes for three years. Since April 2026, he has served as deputy general manager – human resources and people services in Pune.

    Before joining Skoda Auto Volkswagen India, Dabi worked at Volkswagen India as the manager human resource & administration from June 2012 to October 2019. His 7-year, 5-month stint focused on HR operations, industrial relations, and organisational development, in Pune.

    He began his HR career at Tata BlueScope Steel as the senior associate – human resources in January of 2007. Over five years and six months, he gained experience in manufacturing HR practices and employee engagement.

    With 17+ years of experience, Dabi is known for driving business transformation through people, culture, and technology. He has led large HR programmes, including SAP SuccessFactors rollout, HR digitalisation, workforce planning, and leadership development. He also played a key role in setting up technology and R&D centres by building scalable talent strategies.

    In the current role, he will lead HR strategy, digital transformation, succession planning and employee experience for diverse functions at Skoda Auto Volkswagen India. He is recognised for building high-performing teams and enabling sustainable growth through strategic people practices.
