On April 22, Cipla announced the appointment of Raju Mistry as the president and global chief people officer. Mistry steps into the shoes of Prabir Jha, who was earlier essaying this role.

Mistry, an accomplished and veteran HR leader with over 27 years of global experience, has worked across diverse sectors such as chemicals, pharma, FMCG, IT, engineering and textiles.

Before joining Cipla, she was the chief human resource officer at Jubilant Life Sciences, where she led the human resource function of the organisation globally for two and a half years.

Her longest stint has been with the Aditya Birla Group. There, she led the talent, employer brand and leadership programmes for 13 years. She started her career as an HR manager at Bayer in March, 1992 and has worked in companies, such as Siemens India, Tata Sons, Colgate and Mastech Corporation.

In her new role at Cipla, Mistry will oversee human resource, administration and facilities management. She will be a member of the Management Council of Cipla, and will report to Umang Vohra, managing director & global chief executive officer.

Commenting on the appointment, Vohra, said, “We are delighted to welcome Raju to the Cipla family. In the last few years, Cipla has successfully worked towards strengthening its core, reiterating its values and focusing on building a future-ready organisation. Raju brings with her the experience to continue the journey and help us reach new milestones.”

Mistry holds a PhD in organisational behaviour and leadership effectiveness from Mumbai University. She also completed her postgraduation in industrial relations from Mumbai University.
