Sandeep Nainwal is now head of people, Revolut India. He moves to the India arm of the UK-based fintech company from Flipkart, where he was associate director – Fintech & Payments Group.

An alumnus of XLRI Jamshedpur, Nainwal began his HR journey in 2009, as a management trainee with PSI India. A year later, he joined CMC, as human resources specialist. Three years later, he was elevated to talent acquisition lead for the northern region.

In June 2014, Nainwal moved to NEC Technologies India, as head of talent acquisition. There, he established the talent acquisition function for NTIL for pan India hiring needs, and built strategies to manage end-to-end hiring activities for tech/non-tech, lateral/entry-level requirements across verticals.

It was in 2014 that this postgraduate in human resource management from Jamia Millia Islamia joined Flipkart as principal university relations partner. By 2017, he was COE head – university relations and campus hiring. He successfully established Flipkart as one of the most attractive brands to work for in the top engineering and business schools.

Two years into this role, he was promoted to associate director – Fintech & Payments Group. He lead the people practices in this Group (engineering, product, business and insights), including workforce planning, annual operating plan, organisational design, top talent retention, performance development, learning & development, employee engagement, new leader assimilation, reporting as well as HR analytics.

At Revolut India, Nainwal will focus on top talent acquisition, retention, performance development, learning & development and reporting and HR analytics.

Nainwal is happy to be part of the fintech space, which “is one of the most buzzing sectors currently, especially in India”. He will work to make Revolut India “the best workplace for the exceptional talent in India to grow and deliver.”

Paroma Chatterjee, CEO, Revolut India, is confident that Nainwal will “ensure that Revolut becomes the workplace of choice for the top talent in India”.

Revolut India’s core team has over 60 members while a total team strength of over 900 supports the global operations of Revolut, which has more than 6000 employees, across the world.
