Hero Vired, an EdTech company for professionals and higher education aspirants, which falls under the Hero Group umbrella, has appointed Satyajit Menon to set up and lead its HR division. In line with Hero Vired’s growth strategy, Menon will be responsible for building and strengthening the organisation’s people function by constructing a talent framework that is flexible to the needs of today’s dynamic business climate.

Prior to this appointment, Menon was the VP for people operations at Innovacer, a tech unicorn from India that has been solving the challenges in the US healthcare space, since 2013, where he was working since November 2017. He is a seasoned HR professional with over 20 years of experience across financial services, e-commerce, outsourcing, capital markets, and information technology with leading brands such as GE, Fidelity Worldwide International, Lehman Brothers, and Snapdeal.

He will be tasked with setting the tone for building a high-performance culture where goals and results are made transparent, ‘purpose’ is made clear to the organisation’s talent, engagement models are built to measure employee experience at the highest level and leaders are encouraged to develop Hero Vired’s people’s potential to make them a highly productive and potent workforce.

Commenting on the appointment, Akshay Munjal, founder & CEO, Hero Vired, says, “In today’s dynamic and ever-evolving environment, the role of a robust and purpose-driven HR function has never been more significant in any organisation. Having launched just two months ago, we are delighted to have Satyajit join us on our journey of ‘reimagining education’. We are confident that his vast wealth of expertise and best practices from leading brands will help build a strong, people-first, high-performance and culture-driven organisation.”

Menon, as he is known among his friends and colleagues, also plays the role of a people-strategy advisor to some of the top new-age tech startups in India and the US. His areas of expertise include employee relations, being an advisor to leadership teams, bringing people-friendly work policies among other critical HR interventions. He has a strong track record of building dynamic and agile teams, promoting exciting career opportunities for talent internally, and enabling a highly engaged workforce.

Menon shares, “Hero Vired is an organisation that carries along with the prestige and legacy of one of India’s largest business conglomerates – the Hero Group. I look forward to working closely with the leadership team to build a workforce that adapts quickly to change, a place where through a culture of learning, curiosity, passion and velocity can emerge as a highlyskilled, resilient and empathetic group of people.”

An aviator (stunt pilot), who also enjoys writing short stories based on suspense/crime, Menon is a super fan of the English Premier League and Chelsea Football Club in particular.
