    Shaji Mathew to be group head – HR, Infosys

    Come March 2023 and Infosys will have a new group head – human resources. Shaji Mathew will step into the shoes of Krish Shankar, who has been bearing this responsibility since 2015.

    Mathew has been serving as executive vice president and global head of delivery – banking, financial services, insurance (BFSI), healthcare and life sciences since 2019.

    His tryst with Infosys began way back in 1992, when he joined as a software engineer – delivery manager. By 2004, he was the divisional manager – insurance healthcare and life sciences.

    In 2007, he was elevated to associate vice president, head of delivery – manufacturing, Europe, and head of Infosys Mysore Centre. Climbing up the corporate ladder fast and steady, he became the VP and head of delivery – independent validation services in 2010. A year later, he was appointed the vice president & head of delivery – ADM and Independent Validation (FSI).

    A gold medalist from the National Institute of Technology, Calicut, Mathew has also completed a global leadership programme from Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

    Based on the recommendations of the Audit Committee and the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, the Board of Infosys also designated Mathew as an executive officer for the purpose of reporting under the rules of Securities and Exchange Commission and Key Managerial Personnel as defined under IndAS 24- Related Party Disclosures.

    Mathew has contributed significantly to creating a more inclusive workforce as the chair for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in India. He has also served as the Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry at the zonal level.

    Salil Parekh, CEO & MD, Infosys is relying on Mathew’s “in-depth knowledge of our company as well as vast leadership experience” gained over the 30 years he spent at Infosys.

    Parekh also expressed “deep appreciation for Krish Shankar for building a robust human resources organisation that further strengthened Infosys’ position as a preferred employer globally.”

    Krish Shankar was head – HR, Indian Subcontinent, Philips, before he joined Infosys as group head – HR in 2015.

    An alumnus of XLRI, Jamshedpur, Krish has held senior positions at Bharti Airtel, Unilever, Hindustan Lever and Eicher Tractors in his 36-year long career.

    At Infosys, Krish will be remembered for developing a strong employee value proposition, helping build a digital skills-based ecosystem and enabling digital career paths for employees.
