After a successful decade-long stint with Sundaram Clayton, Shankar Ganesh Rajan, has now moved to Southern Petrochemical Industries Corporation (SPIC). He will be playing the role of chief human resources officer (CHRO) at the Indian agri-nutrient and fertiliser company.
An alumnus of University of Madras, Rajan holds a PGDBA in Human Resource Management from Symbiosis Centre for Distance Learning and has completed an Executive Development Programme in Human Resources Management and Services from XLRI Jamshedpur.
He spent over a decade with SRF, from 1995 to 2007. He joined the company as engineer-production in February of 1005. Over eight years into this role he was elevated to manager-HR. Over three and a half years later, he moved on from SRF after a tenure that lasted over 12 years.
Rajan joined Harita NTI as HR manager in July of 2007, based out of Chennai. He headed TQM, safety and business HR for almost four years.
His next stop was Harita Seating Systems where he played senior manager for four years, working out of Hosur. He headed business HR for Harita Seating, Harita Fehrer and Sundaram Autocomponents.
Sundaram Clayton roped him in for the role of assistant general manager-HR, in April of 2015. Eight years into this role, he was elevated to general manager-HR.
Now, in his latest assignment at SPIC, he will lead the company’s people and HR strategy, with emphasis on talent development, organisational effectiveness, and alignment of human capital initiatives with business priorities.
