    Oracle scouts for sales professionals to sell cloud

    The company plans to increase its sales force by 1,000 new hires in the Asia Pacific region.

    Oracle’s cloud computing business has grown faster than it was expected. The company now plans to give it a further push by hiring 300 sales professionals in India. The positions available are for the key accounts teams, regional strategic teams and emerging market businesses.

    Oracle’s global revenue from cloud SaaS and PaaS has seen a growth of 30 per cent in the third quarter.

    In the Asia Pacific region, the company plans to increase the sales force by 1,000 new hires, of which around 30 per cent would be based out of India.

    The Indian cloud computing market is estimated to reach $1.08 billion this year. The current strength of Oracle’s team in India is around 30,000.
