    Passport officer jobs available across India

    Central Passport Organisation, under the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, is recruiting passport officers and assistant passport officers across the country. There are 24 vacancies in total, and the hiring will be done on a deputation basis. Even Central government officers who fulfil the eligibility criteria may apply.

    Applications are to be submitted by 6 August, 2022.

    For the post of passport officer, the candidates should have held regular analogous posts in the parent department or should possess five years of experience in service level 11 of the pay matrix or equivalent department. Additionally, applicants should have nine years of experience in passport, consular, emigration, administration, finance, accounts, vigilance, or public grievance. A bachelor’s degree from a recognised university is a must.

    For the post of deputy passport officer also, the candidates should have held regular analogous posts in the parent department or should possess five years of experience. A bachelor’s degree from a recognised university is a must.

    A passport officer can expect a salary in the range of about Rs 78,000 to Rs 2 lakhs. An assistant passport officer can expect a salary in the range of about Rs 60,000 to Rs 2 lakhs.

    The vacancies for passport officer exist in Surat, Srinagar, Madurai, Amritsar, Bareilly, Jalandhar, Jammu, Nagpur, Shimla, Raipur and Panaji. For deputy passport officer, vacancies exist in Ahmedabad, Delhi, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Kozhikode and Pune.
