JWIL Infra has roped in Sunita Thakur Kohli for the role of chief human resources officer (CHRO). Kohli was earlier with Suez India where she played senior vice president-human resources from 2021 to 2025.

Having begun her professional journey in 1991, Kohli served as a research officer at Bhasin Associated for a short while before joining Degremont as senior research officer from 1992 to 1996.

She became commissioning manager in 1997. A year later, she was elevated to plant manager (O&M division). From 2008 to 2011 she played senior manager, sales and business development. The next elevation put her in the chair of deputy general manager, Degremont, owned by Suez.

Among other responsibilities, she performed internal audits for India and the group entities, and managed the action plan linked to the audit. She also helped build and implement the BU management dashboard and designed the HR induction process for graduate engineer trainees.

A little less than four years later, she was appointed vice president-HR, admin, communications, Suez India. Another elevation later, she became senior vice president-HR, admin and communications, Suez India.

Now, after almost three decades of association with Degremont/ Suez, Sunita Thakur Kohli will be taking up the role of CHRO, JWIL Infra, a holistic water-management company.

HRKatha is confident that Kohli’s leadership experience across HR, administration, communications, and business operations will prove to be an asset to JWIL.

    All the best, Sunita!
