Mohamed Alabbar, founder of Emaar Properties and the developer behind the Burj Khalifa, has highlighted why he often turns to Indian professionals in his ventures. Speaking at the Make it in the Emirates summit, he described Indian workers as among the most dependable workers globally, known for their consistency, dedication, and willingness to respond even at odd hours. For him, this reflects a deep sense of responsibility and commitment that strengthens business outcomes.

Alabbar explained that success is not only about intelligence but about sustained effort, attention to detail, and disciplined execution. He connected these qualities directly to Indian employees, noting their readiness to go the extra mile. His preference for Indian talent stems from their reliability and ability to deliver under pressure.

He also reflected on broader lessons from crises such as the 2008 financial crash and the COVID-19 pandemic. According to him, businesses must build resilience before challenges strike, not after. At Emaar, this meant taking early steps to safeguard jobs and salaries during downturns, reinforcing trust and stability across the workforce.

He stressed that long-term reputation depends on how companies treat people in difficult times. For him, resilience, vigilance, and consistent delivery are the foundations of sustainable success. His own journey—from growing up in government housing in Old Dubai to building a global empire spanning real estate, retail, and e-commerce—underscores his belief that hard work and dependable teams matter more than anything else.
