After a long and successful tenure of over 16 years at Infosys,  Saraswathi Chandrasekharan has moved to Ascendion as global chief people officer. She moves from Infosys after a 16-year long association, with ther last designation there being AVP-senior principal, compensation and benefits.

In the initial phase of her career, Saraswathi Chandrasekharan spent some time as a management trainee-HR with Sterlite Industries, before joining Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu  India as senior HR consultant, in December of 2004. After over five years with the company, she moved to Infosys and began her long association with the Indian multinational.

She entered as a senior HR lead in December of 2009 where she was part of the HR Effectiveness Team for almost two years before being promoted to practice lead-HR strategy and transformation.  Less than two years into this role, she was elevated to senior practice lead-organisation development. For the next almost three years, she led the career architecture, performance management and competency team in OD.

Another promotion in 2016 made her principal-organisation development (OD). Over two years later, she was put in the position of senior principal-OD.

From 2021 to 2025, she served as associate vice president and senior principal-OD. In this role, she led oganisation design and careers portfolio for Infosys, globally, handling career and skill architecture, career development and career movements. January of 2025 saw her taking on the role of AVP, senior principal-compensation and benefits.

Now, in her new assignment at Ascendion, the AI-first software engineering services company, she believes she has joined “at a time for true workforce transformation and for reimagining talent, leadership, skills, careers, and culture for an AI-native world”.

In her social-media post, Chandrasekharan expresses her excitement at this opportunity to be part of Ascendion’s “bold vision and passion for helping clients redefine their software engineering capabilities in this new era”. She is honoured to be associated with a company that “is at the forefront of driving the shift toward an AI-native future” and believes “the role of the People & Culture function has never been more important than it is today”.

HRKatha wishes Saraswathi Chandrasekharan all the best as she learns, builds and creates impact together with her new team!
