Miraj Entertainment announced on 18 June,2026, that it has elevated Deepak Adwani to executive director of Miraj Cinemas, with the appointment taking effect immediately on 19 June 2026. The company stated that Adwani was promoted from his position as vice president – P&L after spending 14 years with the multiplex chain.

The company explained that the leadership change has come in the wake of the sudden passing of managing director Bhuvanesh Mendiratta. It highlighted that Adwani brought more than two decades of experience in cinema exhibition and entertainment to the role. Officials noted that during his tenure at Miraj Cinemas, he had been instrumental in driving operational efficiency, improving audience experience, and supporting the company’s growth across India. They added that his MBA background and expertise in cinema operations and business management positioned him well for the new responsibility.

Arvind Jain, group CEO, Miraj Entertainment said that Adwani has been an integral part of the Miraj Cinemas family for over 14 years. He observed that Adwani’s in-depth understanding of cinema operations, commitment to excellence, and deep-rooted industry knowledge made him the right leader to take the vision forward. Jain expressed full confidence that Adwani would build on the strong foundation and accelerate the company’s growth journey.

On his elevation, Adwani conveyed that he was truly honoured to take on the responsibility and will do so with a deep sense of purpose and gratitude. He stated that the focus would remain on expanding the company’s footprint, elevating the cinematic experience, embracing innovation, and bringing world-class entertainment to audiences across India.

The company reported that Miraj Cinemas currently operated 250 screens across 73 cinemas in 50 cities and 16 states, making it India’s third-largest multiplex chain. It added that the chain was progressing toward a 300-screen milestone and would soon add two IMAX screens to reinforce its commitment to premium experiences.
