Sequoia Capital, the business consulting and services company, has elevated Vishakha Mittal to the position of HR director. She had joined the company in 2022, as senior human resources business partner.

Mittal, who holds an MBA from University of California, Irvine-The Paul Merage School of Business, interned with Target for over a year before being absorbed as executive team leader in September of 2008. For almost four years, she handled payroll, expenses, schedule, inventory, and product merchandising to drive a profitable business.

She was promoted to district administrator in July of 2012. September of 2014 saw her reaching the position of senior human resources specialist.

After a decade with Target, Mittal joined In-N-Out Burger as human resources generalist, in 2017. Based out of Irvine, California, for over three years, she investigated employee relation concerns and advised management on wage laws, ADA, retaliation, harassment, performance management, terminations, benefits and company policies, among other responsibilities.

January of 2021 saw Mittal taking up the role of human resources business partner at Oasis. Working remotely, she collaborated with business owners, executives, and managers to interpret business needs and people priorities, while keeping the holistic organisation top of mind to achieve a 98 per cent retention rate.

It was in January 2022 that she came to be associated with Sequoia as senior human resources business partner. Since then she has been providing strategic HR and consultative services to high-tech clients, including trainings, analysing key HR trends, developing policies, and creating an HR infrastructure for small to medium size businesses.

Now, with her elevation, she will work to further enhance Sequoia’s people strategy and organisational capability.

HRKatha wishes Vishakha Mittal all the best in this endeavour!
