Parle Biscuits, known for the popular Parle-G, Monaco, Hide & Seek and Melody, has roped in George Kovoor to play chief executive officer (CEO), effective 1 September, 2026.

Kovoor is backed by over 38 years of experience, having begun his career as a humble area manager/trainee with Brooke Bonde India way back in 1988.

After completing an MBM from the Asian Institute of Management in 1993, he joined PepsiCo as manager/GM finance operations.

This was the beginning of a long and successful association with the food, beverages and snacks brand. Just over three years into this role, he was elevated to GM/VP operations, working out of Pune, Maharashtra.

Another promotion in 1999 made him VP-franchise operations. September of 2001 saw him taking on the responsibilities of EVP-retail channel/traditional trade, based out of Delhi. Over two years into this role, he was promoted to director-East market unit, in 2006. From 2007 to 2011, he served as vice president China and Hong Kong market units, Pepsico Foods China.

From June of 2011  he played VP-business transformation, Greater China Region, based out of Shanghai. The next promotion in June of 2012 made him VP-sales development and transformation, Greater China Region.

He was general manager from 2014 to 2016 before being elevated to SVP Global Foodservice Customers. This role saw him relocating to New York City for six years. He as back in India to play SVP and GM India Beverages, working out of Gurugram, in January of 2022.

After a long tenure of 31 years and four months with PepsiCo, George Kovoor founded Ask GeKo Advisory. This strategic advisory practice served consumer goods, food and beverage, private equity, and B2B companies on emerging market growth, transformation, and board governance.

Now, in his new role at Parle, Ajay Chauhan, MD, Parle Biscuits, will be working with Kovoor  “to build on Parle’s strong foundation, strengthen our capabilities and open new opportunities for sustainable growth”. Chauhan is confident of Kovoor’s  “ability to drive results, develop talent and navigate complex markets”.
