The Ministry of Labour & Employment, along with the Government of Uttar Pradesh, is hosting a two?day state?level programme on labour codes, worker welfare and social protection in Lucknow on 26–27 October 2026. This event is part of the nationwide Shram Samvad campaign, a 90?day outreach effort covering 316 districts across all states and union territories, with special attention to industrial clusters.
The programme aims to build capacity and raise awareness among employers, human resource professionals, and other stakeholders about the new labour codes and related welfare schemes. The goal is to make compliance easier and ensure reforms are implemented effectively at the ground level.
The first day of the programme will focus on labour reforms, international labour mobility, social protection for gig and unorganised workers, and welfare initiatives for construction workers. Sessions will also highlight the role of ESIC and Employees’ Provident Fund Office (EPFO), and the use of technology platforms such as e?Shram, Shram Suvidha Portal, SAMADHAN and Labour Stack to improve worker benefits.
The second day will concentrate on practical implementation of the four labour codes — Wages, Industrial Relations, Social Security, and Occupational Safety & Health. It will also cover flagship schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana and Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana. Child-labour prevention, rescue, rehabilitation, and monitoring strategies will also be discussed.
Both days will include open discussions, giving participants a chance to raise operational concerns and compliance queries directly with officials.
For HR leaders, the programme underlines the importance of understanding new labour laws, supporting worker welfare, and building trust during reforms that affect millions of employees across India.
