The Mizoram government, under the direction of Chief Minister Lalduhoma, has initiated a unique step. The government is set to conduct an extensive review of state government employees to assess their fitness for continued service.
Announced during an economic summit, this initiative mandates each department to establish a service-review committee. The primary aim of the committee will be to evaluate employee performance and suitability for public service roles.
The government’s objective with this review is to identify any employees deemed unfit to remain in state employment, allowing for potential termination if necessary. This approach underscores a drive for greater efficiency within Mizoram’s public workforce, aligning with Lalduhoma’s call for enhanced accountability.
Additionally, the government has introduced measures to intensify monitoring of development projects across the state. Moving forward, all departmental project proposals will require submission to the central government exclusively through the state’s planning department. This change aims to ensure centralised oversight and alignment with Mizoram’s development goals.
The focus on stricter project supervision highlights the administration’s commitment to transparency and progress in state-led initiatives.
