“Focus on Tesla or give up CEO position”: Tesla investor to Musk

Ross Gerber, a Tesla investor has decided to speak up about Elon Musk neglecting his duties as Tesla’s CEO and focusing more on his government role.

While Tesla’s share prices are dipping along with its sales, Gerber feels Elon Musk should give up his role as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), US and focus on what’s going at Tesla. If he cannot do so, Gerber wants Musk to step down from his position at Tesla.

In a recent interview, Gerber stated that Tesla could do with a new CEO as Musk appears to be distracted and preoccupied with his duties as head of DOGE.

Tesla, Gerber feels needs to be run properly given that the electric vehicle maker is undergoing a crisis presently, which has led to its market value falling by more than $800 billion since the end of 2024. The trend seems to be continuing, which is worrisome despite the fact that Tesla is offering what is probably the best product in the market today.

What is of concern to Gerber is that a day has just 24 hours and it is impossible for Musk to divide his time between DOGE and Tesla and do justice to both, especially since he had acquired X two years ago.

Additionally, as an investor, Gerber is worried about the adverse effect that DOGE and Musk have had on Tesla’s reputation thanks to all the media attention that DOGE’s activities have got in recent times.
