American multinational retail company, Walmart, is all set to recruit 2,000 technology experts in 2019 to support the expansion of its stores and online business.
The Company is seeking data scientists, software engineers, designers and so on to be employed in nine offices.
The new hires are expected to help Walmart expand its online business and embed in-store technology, including robots for scrubbing floors and scanning shelves. The retail company is planning to offer stiff competition to Amazon and other competitors.
Walmart has introduced various digital tools and algorithms that allow its staff to pick online orders quicker by mapping the ideal route through the aisles. Walmart’s curbside grocery-pickup service is offered in 2,100 stores and will soon be offered in another 1,000 in 2019. The service has given a massive boost to grocery sales.
