The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Nagpur, has managed to get all its students placed, with one being offered a salary package of Rs 40 lakh per annum. This was the highest package bagged this year. The highest domestic package offered has also doubled this year, to Rs 40 lakh per annum, from Rs 20 lakh last year. The average salary package was Rs 13.10 lakh.

Not only was the size of the graduating batch double that of the previous batch, the process of recruitment has also become more competitive, with more pre-placement offers being made, and higher packages being offered.

At IIM Indore, on the other hand, the highest salary package bagged by a student was Rs 50 lakh.

The average offered to students this year was Rs 22.92 lakh per annum, while the highest domestic package was Rs 50 lakh per annum. Almost 578 students received offers from more than 160 employers in India and abroad. Interestingly, this was the largest IIM batch to pass the course in a single academic session.

Meanwhile, at IIM Ahmedabad, the maximum job offers came from McKinsey. Other big names that participated, included, Boston Consulting Group and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). However, the details of salary packages will be released only after the audited placement report is out in November, 2020. However, in the previous year, the maximum salary offered was Rs 70 lakh (domestic) —from the banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI) sector in Mumbai. For international offers, the maximum salary offered was about Rs 80.6 lakh.
