Mahindra Group has launched a groundbreaking initiative, SOAR: Seamless Opportunity for Amazing Returnships, aimed at women professionals seeking to rejoin the corporate workforce after a career break. The programme is designed to align with participants’ previous professional experience.

Unlike conventional return-to-work programmes that offer short-term or part-time roles, SOAR emphasises long-term, full-time opportunities. Additionally, it will equip the participants with mentorship, training, and continuous engagement to ensure a seamless transition.

SOAR is open to women with at least five years of professional experience and a career break ranging from six months to three years. The programme kicks off with a detailed induction at the Mahindra Leadership University (MLU), where participants are encouraged to connect, collaborate, and align with a shared purpose. Each professional is assigned both a mentor and a ‘buddy’ to guide and support them during the transition back into the workplace.

Flexibility is a cornerstone of SOAR. Participants can take advantage of options such as job sharing or part-time roles to manage personal and professional responsibilities effectively. The programme also incorporates structured feedback mechanisms, regular one-on-one reviews, and leadership interactions to ensure participants can continuously refine their skills, rebuild their confidence, and thrive.

Ruzbeh Irani, president – group human resources, Mahindra Group, highlighted the vision behind SOAR. “Women re-entering the workforce bring resilience, fresh perspectives, and a wealth of experience. SOAR embodies our dedication to creating an inclusive, empowering work environment,” he said.

The Mahindra Group, known for its philosophy of ‘Rise,’ aims to empower individuals to drive meaningful change. With SOAR, the company reinforces its commitment to fostering inclusive workplaces, believing that such environments fuel innovation, resilience and sustainable growth.
