Hero MotoCorp is witnessing a series of senior-level resignations, which are adding to the company’s leadership challenges of late. Sameer Pande, head-HR- talent management, Hero MotoCorp, has stepped down, according to industry sources. His departure is just one of several executive- level exits at the Indian two-wheeler manufacturer.
As per media reports, four other senior officials have also resigned in recent weeks. Among those who recently resigned is Reema Jain, chief information and digital officer; Swadesh Srivastava, chief business officer- emerging mobility (Vida); Dharm Rakshit, head-HR and culture change and Chandrasekar Radhakrishnan, head-business for emerging mobility (Vida).
The company has yet to release an official statement regarding these exits. Hero MotoCorp’s shares faced a decline of nearly one per cent, dropping to Rs 3,527.85, following reports of multiple senior-level resignations.
These abrupt exits, particularly from key functions such as human resources, digital management, and emerging mobility, have raised concerns about the company’s strategic direction.
These exits follow the departures of Niranjan Gupta, CEO and Ranjivjit Singh, chief business officer, last month, that is, February 2025. Reports suggest that some of the executives were appointed by Gupta and Singh, potentially influencing their decisions to leave.
Hero MotoCorp is also facing increased competition in the two-wheeler market. With sales dropping by 17 per cent compared to the previous year, the company is grappling with both internal restructuring and market pressure. The recent wave of leadership exits further complicates Hero MotoCorp’s efforts to regain its competitive edge.
