The Government of Uttar Pradesh (GoUP) has signed an MoU with Indus Action, a policy implementation not-for-profit, dedicated to bridging the gap between law and action. This initiative will enhance social security for workers in the construction and unorganised sectors.
The partnership introduces a new digital platform for worker registration and benefits claims, integrates with Uttar Pradesh’s Unified Family ID System for targeted welfare, employs technology-driven systems to accelerate benefit processing, and implements real-time monitoring to track execution and impact.
This three-year partnership aims to modernise welfare delivery through digital solutions and streamlined processes. Furthermore, the initiative will improve benefits offered by the Building and Other Construction Workers (BoCW) Board and the Unorganised Workers (UoW) Social Security Board.
It aligns with the Digital India vision, ensuring seamless access to welfare schemes for workers and their families.
Anil Rajbhar, cabinet minister, labour and employment, highlighted the impact, “This initiative reflects Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modiji’s Digital India vision. Under Hon’ble CM Yogi Adityanathji’s leadership, Uttar Pradesh is committed to setting a benchmark for efficient worker welfare delivery.”
Tarun Cherukuri, founder & CEO, Indus Action, emphasised the initiative’s impact, “This partnership takes us closer to an inclusive social-security system. By combining technology with human-centred design, we ensure no worker is left behind.”
This collaboration marks a major step in transforming Uttar Pradesh’s worker welfare system, making social security more accessible and efficient.
