The Uttar Pradesh government has announced that it will provide one lakh government jobs within the next six months. Appointment letters will be issued in stages, with recruitment examinations already completed and results being processed. The move is aimed at speeding up opportunities for young job seekers and ensuring that recruitment timelines are shortened.
Since 2017, the state has already provided over 9.3 lakh government jobs. Officials say the process has been based on merit, reservation rules, and transparency. At a recent event in Lucknow, appointment letters were distributed to more than 3,400 agricultural technical assistants and market secretaries, marking another step in the ongoing recruitment drive.
The government has also introduced reforms in examinations. Board exams, which earlier stretched over several months, are now completed in 14 days, with results declared within the next two weeks. Around 56 lakh students appear for these exams each year, and the administration claims to have ensured copy free examinations and faster outcomes.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed commissions and boards to complete recruitment processes within six months of requisition, with advertisements issued quickly and results declared without delay. The aim is to prevent frustration among candidates waiting for outcomes after appearing for exams.
Officials highlight that the large number of jobs created has contributed to the state’s economic growth and helped in linking its young population with development. The upcoming one lakh jobs are expected to further strengthen this momentum, giving more youth access to secure employment and supporting the state’s demographic dividend.
