LThe state government has decided to provide an ad-hoc bonus of Rs 6,800 to its employees who are not covered under any productivity-linked bonus scheme. This applies to employees whose revised emoluments were below Rs 44,000 per month as of March.
In a recent announcement, the government specified that Muslim employees will receive the bonus before the conclusion of the Eid al-Fitr festival. Other eligible employees will get their bonuses between *15 and 19 September, 2025.
This year’s bonus is Rs 800 higher compared to the previous year. Additionally, the upper emolument limit for eligibility has been raised by Rs 2,000 per month.
To provide further financial support, the government has sanctioned an interest-free festival advance of up to Rs 20,000. Employees with emoluments not exceeding Rs 52,000 per month in March will be eligible. The advance has been increased from last year’s limit of Rs 18,000.
In a gesture of support for retired employees, the government has also announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs 3,500 for each pensioner. This payment aims to offer additional financial relief during the festive season.
With these measures, the government seeks to ease financial burdens and help employees and pensioners celebrate the upcoming festivals with greater joy and security. The timely disbursement of bonuses and advances is expected to provide immediate economic relief across the state.
