After successfully serving as vice president-sales, VIP Industries, for well over two years, Abhinav Kapoor has moved to Del Monte Foods Private Ltd, as chief executive officer (CEO).

An alumnus of the Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune, Kapoor worked with Marico Industries for over nine years, from 2001 to 2010. He joined as management trainee, but got promoted to area sales manager within a year. Two elevations later, he became regional sales head, in 2008.

In 2010, he moved from Hyderabad to Chennai, to join Mondelez International as branch sales manager. Two years into this role, he switched again, to take up the role of regional sales manager, Britannia Industries. After serving in this position for almost two and a half years, he was promoted to national head-modern trade and alternate channels, in 2015. This promotion took him to Bengaluru.

June of 2019 saw him back in Chennai as business head-food and snacks, CavinKare.

It was in October 2021 that he moved to Mumbai, joining VIP Industries, as VP-sales.

In his new assignment at Del Monte Foods Private Limited, he will be tasked with strengthening the growth momentum for Del Monte Foods in the Indian FMCG market and consolidate the company’s position in the industry. He will lead the Del Monte Foods senior leadership team across all functions and steer the long-term strategy for the business and the company as delineated by the Del Monte Foods Board.

Harjeet Kohli, joint managing director, Bharti Enterprises, expressed confidence in Kapoor’s ability to “scale up the operations platform in India, both in the B2B and B2C space” and also to “bring about transformational initiatives towards allied product portfolios.” The company is relying on “his extensive experience in sales and distribution in the FMCG/consumer businesses sector” which makes him a valuable asset.

HRKatha wishes Abhinav Kapoor all the best!
