Abhishek Tiwary returns to KPMG from Tech Mahindra

In a remarkable career move, Abhishek Tiwary is set to rejoin KPMG, starting on July 8, 2024. Tiwary will assume the role of global HR head for the KPMG Delivery Network (KDN) and will be based in New York. KDN aims to revolutionise how KPMG delivers services to clients and member firms worldwide, and Tiwary’s return is poised to be a significant asset, though the exact reasons behind his move remain undisclosed.

Prior to this, Tiwary served as the senior vice president of HR at Tech Mahindra. His journey with KPMG Global Services (KGS) began in 2008, where he dedicated over a decade to the company. Starting as an assistant director of HR, Tiwary quickly rose through the ranks. In 2012, he was promoted to director of HR, and by 2016, he had ascended to the position of Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). His exceptional performance eventually led him to KPMG’s US office, where he served as executive director of HR, spearheading initiatives in equity, diversity, and inclusivity until 2023.

Throughout his tenure at KPMG, Tiwary demonstrated his prowess in strategic HR management, talent transformation, and leadership development. His strategic insights have guided global enterprises through significant growth and transformation. With over two decades of global HR leadership experience, Tiwary has held prominent positions at renowned companies such as TCS, Amdocs, and Convergys.

An alumnus of IIM Lucknow, Tiwary holds a Master’s in personnel management from the Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune. He is also a graduate of the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, and served in the Indian Navy as a sub-lieutenant for nearly three years. Following his military service, Tiwary worked as a journalist for Star News for a year before transitioning to HR in 2003 after completing his Master’s in personnel management.

As Tiwary prepares to return to KPMG, his extensive background and diverse experience are expected to play a crucial role in advancing the company’s strategic goals and enhancing its global HR initiatives.
