    Aditya Birla Retail’s HR head joins Chai Point as COO

    Chai Point, an online tea retailer with physical retail stores as well, has appointed Shashikanth KS as its chief operating officer. HRKatha’s sources confirmed that in his new role, Shashikanth will be managing the overall operations of the Company and will help in the further growth of the business.

    Prior to this role, Shashikanth was the HR head at Aditya Birla Retail, where he managed the overall HR function. In his more than 20-year long professional career, Shashikanth has worked in various functions of the business.

    During his over 11-year long stint with Aditya Birla Retail, Shashikanth took on different roles from operations to HR. He joined Aditya Birla Retail in 2008 at the CEO’s office, in strategies and operations. He also served as the head of marketing there.

    After completing a BSc in mathematics, economics and statistics, Shashikanth joined Tatra Udyog (now Tatra Vectra Motors, an off-load truck manufacturer) which is a joint venture between Tatra a.s and Vectra, as an executive-finance & accounts.

    From Tatra Vectra Motors, Shashikanth moved to Electronic Research, a subsidiary of BPL Group as assistant manager, finance and costing.

    An alumnus of IIM Bangalore, Shashikanth has dabbled in the manufacturing, electronics, IT and retail sectors. He worked with Wipro as a consultant for a short time before joining Infosys as a senior manager, strategy and business planning. At Infosys, Shashikanth was responsible for developing frameworks and reviewing and giving feedback on the three-year business plans for the revenue-generating units.
