Banijay Asia, an Indian TV and web show production company has named Bhagyashree Zope as its new head – talent acquisition. This move brings a seasoned HR leader with over 10 years of experience in media, entertainment, and digital businesses to the company’s HR team.

Zope’s career shows steady growth across some of India’s leading entertainment companies. Her association with the HR function began in August 2014 as an HR executive on freelance with Firstsource Solutions, where she handled lateral hiring for roles up to assistant manager level.

In February 2015, Zope joined ZEE5 as an assistant manager – human resources. During this period, she managed talent acquisition for ZEE5 and ZEE’s digital news businesses, both in India and abroad. She also handled end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, employee lifecycle management for Living Foodz digital businesses, and oversaw payroll inputs and grievance resolution for ZLiving Digital employees.

From September 2017 to January 2022, Zope worked at Star TV Network as talent- acquisition manager. In this period, she partnered with businesses such as Star Sports, Star TV, and regional channels including Star Jalsha, Star Maa, Star Vijay, and Star Suvarna. She led key projects such as setting up regional Star Sports channels in Bengali, Marathi, Kannada, and Tamil, and Star Sports’ first-ever bio-bubble project. She also conducted compensation benchmarking studies to bring industry insights.

In February 2022, she moved to Prime Video & Amazon MGM Studios as a full life cycle recruiter where she played recruitment business partner for Amazon Prime Video’s non-tech business. She worked on both strategy and execution, recommended new recruitment processes, improved existing ones, ensured great candidate experience, and led diversity and inclusion initiatives for Amazon’s Entertainment India business.

Now, at Banijay Asia, Bhagyashree Zope will focus on building strong talent-acquisition systems, creating high-performing teams, and driving hiring plans that support the company’s growth.

Her experience in recruitment, workforce planning, diversity hiring, and stakeholder management makes her a key part of Banijay Asia’s people strategy.

We at HRKatha wish Bhagyashree Zope success for her new role!
