After over seven years as chief financial officer (CFO), Zoom Video Communications, Kelly Steckelberg has taken on the role of chief financial officer (CFO), Canva.
Steckelberg began her career as a tax manager with KPMG, way back in 1991. Four years later, she moved to PeopleSoft, as European finance director.
After a five-year long stint with PeopleSoft, Kelly Steckelberg joined Epiphany as senior vice president-finance. Five years into this role, she moved again. This time she took up the role of consumer segment finance senior director, Cisco. Her tenure there lasted almost five years, during which she also served as CFO for the WebEx division for two years and VP finance, corporate controller for two years.
It was in March of 2011 that she began her association with Zoosk as CFO. Two years later, she was elevated to CFO and COO, in May 2012. By the time she moved on from Zoosk in 2017, she had become CEO.
Steckelberg served as board member, ECS of San Francisco, from 2015 to 2017. She was also board member and audit committee chair, Qualtrics, from 2020 to 2023. She has been board member, James Avery Artisan Jewellery since July 2023.
Canva, the design software startup is now relying on Kelly Steckelberg’s strong leadership skills. Given that Steckelberg helped Zoom go public about five years ago, expectations are naturally expected to be high at Canva.
