Cyient, a global intelligent engineering solutions and services company, has picked Prabhakar Atla to be its new chief operating officer (COO). Atla was till now the chief financial officer (CFO). Shrinivas Kulkarni, who was the CFO of Cyient DLM, will now play CFO of Cyient.
These new appointments will take effect from 1 April 2026.
These appointments amid the company’s ‘Embracing Intelligence’ way of working wherein it is integrating human knowledge, domain expertise, and technology to maximise stakeholder value.
Prabhakar Atla has been with Cyient for 12 years now, having joined way back in 2014, as vice president-sales. With this elevation, he will now be responsible for scaling next-generation delivery models, developing future-ready talent, and enriching client experience through effective operating models. His focus will be on improving execution agility, driving operational scalability and achieving excellence in customer-centric delivery. Before Cyient, Atla has worked with Infotech Enterprises for over nine years and was associated with Jost’s Engineering Company for over six years.He began his professional journey as a sales manager with Tata Cellular in 1996.
Shrinivas Kulkarni was with Cyient for over eight years, from 2015 to 2023. He had reached the position of senior vice president-business finance, M&A and investor relations when he moved Cyient DLM as CFO, in January of 2023. Since he had been playing SVP-strategic initiatives at Cyient.
With the latest promotion, Kulkarni will be responsible for guiding Cyient’s global financial strategy, managing investor relations, and overseeing business finance to support competitiveness and industry-leading profitability.
Sukamal Banerjee, executive director and chief executive officer, Cyient, calls Atla’s transition to COO “a natural evolution of his leadership journey and reflects his strong strategic and operational understanding of our business”. According to Banerjee, Kulkarni’s “appointment as CFO reinforces our commitment to financial rigour, performance excellence, and long-term stakeholder value creation”.
Banerjee is confident that the two leaders will together “play a critical role in advancing Cyient in the next orbit of sustainable and profitable growth.”
