Emids, a leading provider of digital transformation solutions for the healthcare and life sciences industries, has appointed Abhishek Shankar as its new chief executive officer. The appointment represents a significant milestone for the 26-year-old company as it continues to help healthcare organisations navigate complex digital transformation initiatives.

Shankar brings more than two decades of experience in healthcare technology innovation. He most recently served as president, communications business, Americas at Tech Mahindra, where he supported global technology service providers with large-scale digital transformation initiatives. Prior to that, he was senior vice president at HCL, leading the technology and life sciences Americas business and establishing it as a market leader in data-driven healthcare solutions.

“The rapid evolution of digital solutions in recent years has created an unprecedented opportunity for transformation in the healthcare and life sciences industries,” said Shankar. “Emids is strongly positioned to guide organisations through this frontier, particularly as AI revolutionises healthcare delivery and patient outcomes.”

Under Shankar’s leadership, Emids plans to deepen its role as a premier technology partner for healthtech, payer, provider, and life science organisations. The company will focus on accelerating digital adoption across the healthcare ecosystem by strengthening its AI, interoperability, and cloud-driven solutions.

Saurabh Sinha, founder and chairman, Emids, expressed confidence in the appointment: “With Shankar’s deep expertise supporting companies undergoing significant growth and digital transformation, we will continue to generate outsized positive outcomes for patients in this increasingly complex healthcare landscape.”

Prasad Chintamaneni, managing director, New Mountain Capital and executive board member, Emids, emphasised the company’s continued investment and commitment to AI-led transformation. “ Shankar’s visionary leadership, deep expertise in AI and automation, and experience scaling high-impact digital solutions will be instrumental in expanding our capabilities and market reach,” he stated.

Founded in 1999 and headquartered in Nashville, Emids has over 26 years of experience partnering with clients to design human-centred digital experiences, build scalable platforms, and enable interoperability, with a mission to advance healthcare through AI and technology innovation.
