    Jacob Jacob is the new group CHRO, Malabar Group

    Jacob Jacob has been appointed as the group CHRO at the Malabar Group. He has moved back to India from Malaysia, where he was the group CHRO at Columbia Asia Healthcare. Jacob comes with an experience of more than 24 years in the HR domain, and has worked with various big brands during his career.

    At the Malabar Group, Jacob will be responsible for taking care of the people function for the Group, primarily the gems and jewellery business.

    Having been exposed to various international markets, Jacob has worked with multiple industries, including aviation, healthcare, hospitality and now the luxury goods and jewellery sector.

    He joined Emirates Airline Dubai, in 2002 as an HR specialist and spent five successful years there. In 2007, he moved to Oberoi Realty for a three-year stint. His last position at Oberoi Realty was that of EVP-HRD after which he moved to join Apollo Hospitals as the chief people officer. After spending close to seven years at Apollo, Jacob moved to Malaysia to join Columbia Asia Healthcare as group CHRO.

    In the initial part of his career, he spent four years a senior consultant with Feedback Ventures, based out of Delhi.

    Jacob’s expertise lies in performance management, development of reward systems (Incl. ESOP), career planning and development, competency mapping, change management, HR strategy and organisational design, organisational restructuring and people transformation initiatives for enterprise growth.
