Jacob Jacob has been appointed group chief human resources officer (GCHRO), Aster DM Healthcare. He will be based out of Dubai, UAE. He moves from the Malabar Group, where he was group CHRO since April 2021. There, he was responsible for taking care of the people function for the Group, primarily the gems and jewellery business.
In the initial part of his career, Jacob Jacob spent four years as a senior consultant with Feedback Ventures, based out of Delhi. He was then associated with Emirates Airline Dubai, in 2002 as an HR specialist and spent five successful years there. In 2007, he moved to Oberoi Realty for a three-year stint. His last position at Oberoi Realty was that of EVP-HRD after which he moved to Apollo Hospitals as the chief people officer, in October 2010. After spending close to seven years at Apollo, Jacob relocated to Malaysia to join Columbia Asia Healthcare as group CHRO.
Jacob’s expertise lies in performance management, development of reward systems (Incl. ESOP), career planning and development, competency mapping, change management, HR strategy and organisational design, organisational restructuring and people-transformation initiatives for enterprise growth.
Having dabbled in various international markets and multiple industries, in 26-year long career, including aviation, healthcare, hospitality and the luxury goods and jewellery sector, he is now back in healthcare.
