Phillips-Van Heusen has appointed Lisa Basumatari as head of HR for Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein in India. With 18-plus years in talent management, organisation development (OD), learning and development (L&D) and people strategy across retail, banking, media and consumer sectors, she will lead the people and culture agenda for both brands from Bengaluru.
Her career graph reflects a steady climb through HR leadership roles. Basumatari started in 2007 as a consultant at The Learning Canvas, followed by stints as content specialist at Synergy Relationship Management and content-development executive at Training in Corporate, where she created training content and case studies. She then moved into HR with Lee Hecht Harrison as a content developer – pan India, before joining Viacom18 Media in 2013 as HR – OD and L&D.
In 2014, she joined RBL Bank as AVP – learning and OD, serving for four years. She later led talent management at Reliance Retail from December 2018 to April 2020, and then headed L&D, talent management and campus relations at SMECorner until December 2022.
Basumatari joined McDonald’s in December 2022 as DGM – people resources, becoming general manager in July 2024. In April 2025, she moved to Arvind Fashions as head – talent and OD, and now she has taken on her current role overseeing HR for Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein at PVH Arvind Fashions.
Known for driving growth through people-focused initiatives, Basumatari is set to shape talent strategy for PVH’s flagship brands in India.
