MMTC-PAMP, the Indian precious metal company, which is also an LBMA accredited Good Delivery Gold & Silver refiner, has elevated Samit Guha to the position of managing director and chief executive officer.

Guha has been associated with MMTC-PAMP since July of 2020, having joined as chief finance and technology officer (CFTO) and going on to be interim CEO.

A certified chartered accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Samit Guha served as factory controller for the initial year of his career journey. In 2006, he joined Bharti Airtel Andhra Pradesh, as chief finance officer (CFO). Two years into this role he became VP-finance, Bharti Airtel serving as the regional controller for South and West hubs for the mobile business of the company. He was promoted to chief controller, telemedia operations in November 2009. By August of 2011, he had been elevated to finance controller (India and South Asia).

From October 2013 to December 2014, he was group CFO, The Oberoi Group, working out of Kolkata and New Delhi. His next stop was Genesis Colours, where he played group CFO for almost four years.

Emaar roped him in to play CFO in September of 2018. Almost two years into this role, he switched to MMTC-PAMP India, as CFTO.

Backed by almost three decades of experience, his ability to inspire teams, manage diverse stakeholders, and harness technology as a growth enabler, makes him ideal to guide MMTC-PAMP into its next phase of innovation and expansion.

Marwan Shakarchi, CEO, MKS PAMP GROUP, believes, “his client-centric approach, growth mindset and strong technology focus will ensure that MMTC-PAMP scales new heights while retaining our core values of transparency and customer satisfaction.”

In his new role at MMTC-PAMP—a joint venture between Switzerland-based bullion refinery, PAMP SA, and MMTC, a Miniratna and Government of India undertaking—Samit Guha will focus “on leveraging technology to reimagine customer experience, expanding our India presence and building long-term value for all. With my team, my vision is to strengthen our leadership in the precious metals industry and keep setting new benchmarks.”
