    Namit Kharbanda is new director-HR, JW Marriott, Pune

    Kharbanda, who used to work for Andaz Delhi, will now be heading all HR-related operations, such as recruitment, talent development policies, administration, compliance and management ,at Marriott, Pune.

     

    Namit Kharbanda has been appointed director of human resources, JW Marriott, Pune.  In his new role, Kharbanda will be responsible for devising innovative HR programmes and ensuring effective communication across hierarchies within the organisation.

    A postgraduate in human resource management and marketing from Symbiosis University, Pune, Kharbanda was earlier working as director-HR at Andaz Delhi, the luxury and lifestyle outlet of the Hyatt brand.

    His responsibilities at Marriott will include leading all HR-related operations, including recruitment, talent-development strategies/policies, administration, compliance and management. He will also work towards aligning human resources with Marriott’s long-term business strategies.

    A diploma holder in hotel management from the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Chandigarh, Kharbanda is known for his positive attitude and strong work ethic. Every willing to learn, he has been recognised for his good by the World HRD Congress. He was presented the ‘101 Top HR Minds’ award in the Indian Hotel Industry Segment last year.

    Kharbanda comes with significant experience in the hospitality space, having worked with Hyatt Hotels Corporation, Abu Dhabi National Hotels Compass ME LLC, IHG Group,  and other big names in the hospitality sector.

    At Andaz Delhi, Kharband has been replaced by Ranjana Pal, who will now be looking after the training needs, culture, wellness, operations and other HR-related functions at the luxury and lifestyle hotel. HR Katha had carried a story on her appointment to the new role last week.
