Sanchayan Paul has moved on from Modernik Lifestyle, to join Network 18 as CHRO-designate.

Backed by 25 years of experience, this alumnus of XLRI Jamshedpur completed his MBA in 1998. Thereafter, he began his professional journey with Reliance Industries as management trainee, based out of Jamnagar, Gujarat. By the time he left the company in 2000, he had grown to the position of assistant manager.

March of 2000 saw him taking on the role of acting HR manager-South Asia, at Thomson Reuters. This assignment saw him based out of Mumbai and managing the entire hire to exit people processes for Reuters’ business in India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh. During this three-year stint he was selected to work on a short-term international assignment with Reuters Asia at Singapore.

His next stop was Eicher Consulting Services (ECS), where he joined as senior consultant in June 2003. Nine months into this role, he moved on to take up the role of manager-human resources, Hutchison Essar Telecom. This assignment saw him in key business partnering roles as head of HR for Chennai circle (2004) and second in-line to HR head for Mumbai circle (2005). A little over a year and a half later, he joined Pricewaterhouse Coopers as senior consultant. In this role, he was stationed in Singapore from October 2005 to January 2006.

His next assignment brought him back to India, when he joined Vodafone in Karnataka. In this longest stint of his career, he began as manager-human resources and was elevated to senior manager in 2007. His next promotion made him deputy general manager and head of human resources, taking him to Ahmedabad. A little over three years later came another promotion that put him in the chair of head-human resources & circle HRBP, Jaipur. In April 2013, he was elevated yet again to head of talent acquisition and employer branding, Mumbai Area. From 2015 to 2016, he played head of performance, rewards and recognition. By the time he moved on from Vodafone in 2018, after almost 13 years of service, he had become head of rewards, organisation effectiveness and change.

Sanchayan Paul founded KaryaMitr, a vernacular tech platform built to skill, assess and hire blue- and grey-collared workforce.

His association with Modernik Lifestyle (an Advent International Portfolio company) began in December 2020, as CHRO.

Known to be a true leader and motivator, his experience will stand him in good stead at Network 18, the media company, HRKatha wishes him all the best in his new assignment.
