Zurich Kotak General Insurance has appointed Surabhi Kanjilal as its chief marketing officer (CMO). She was earlier head-marketing and retail PMO, Reliance General Insurance
Surabhi Kanjilal, who holds an MBA from NIILM Centre for Management Studies, started off as brand services manager with Leo Burnett Orchard, in July of 2009. She then moved to Apollo Munich Health Insurance as senior executive-brand and corporate communication for over two and a half years.
In September of 2012, Kanjilal took up the role of account director, MullenLowe Lintas Group, working out of Gurgaon. For over two years she led the brand services team that was responsible for insight-mining and conceptualisation of marketing campaigns for these brands.
Her next stop was Ola, in September 2014. She began as marketing manager and part of the TaxiForSure core team, which was a leading on-demand cab aggregator that made a successful exit after its acquisition by Ola Cabs in 2015.
She joined Money View as marketing lead in September of 2015, based out of Bengaluru. In November 2016, she was one of the founding members of HeadLYT, a bike-taxi startup.
From 2017 to 2019 she was working out of Germany as AVP, growth strategy, DCMN, a growth-marketing consulting firm headquartered in Berlin.
February of 2019 was witness to Surabhi Kanjilal accepting the role of head-marketing and retail PMO at Reliance General Insurance, where she stayed put for over six years.
In her latest assignment at Zurich Kotak, Surabhi Kanjilal will be responsible for leading the company’s marketing and PR strategy, brand development and digital initiatives, leveraging her extensive experience to drive Zurich Kotak General Insurance to greater heights.
