Employee associations in Andhra Pradesh are considering a joint agitation over several long-pending demands concerning government employees, teachers and pensioners.
The Andhra Pradesh JAC Amaravati has invited the Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Officers (APNGOs) Association and the Andhra Pradesh Secretariat Employees’ Association to participate in a State-level conference scheduled to be held in Vijayawada on August 28.
The move comes after AP JAC Amaravati leaders sought the support of the two organisations for a coordinated campaign, particularly on issues involving the financial benefits of employees, teachers and pensioners.
A delegation led by Bopparaju Venkateswarlu, chairman, AP JAC Amaravati, met representatives of the APNGOs Association at APNGO Bhavan. The delegation called for the employee bodies to work together on the pending issues.
AP JAC Amaravati said the government has not taken decisions on several demands despite discussions with employee representatives. Employee associations had met the State government on 22 July, but no decisions had been announced more than a month later.
The organisation said this delay had increased frustration among employees and called for the two JACs to revive their earlier practice of jointly raising employee concerns.
AP JAC Amaravati secretary-general Palishetti Damodara Rao also urged the APNGOs leadership to participate in the proposed movement.
The proposed coordination comes as employee organisations seek progress on financial and service-related demands that they say have remained unresolved for an extended period.
