Akasa Air, the Indian budget airline has begun hiring pilots once again after having paused hiring for a year and a half due to delivery of aircraft being delayed by Boeing. The airline is gearing to add to its fleet of aircraft. If all goes well and as per schedule it will have 34 aircraft by the end of next month, that is, February of 2026, up from the 32 it presently has.
Vinay Dube, CEO, Akasa Air has reportedly revealed to the media that the airline is financially sound and has 750 pilots in its team flying 33 aircraft. This is apparently a very good ratio of pilots to aircraft as per industry standards. Each pilot in the team is actively flying and the airline is preparing for an IPO.
With things looking good now, and Boeing likely to deliver on time, the airline has resumed hiring pilots.
