Elon Musk’s AI venture, xAI is on a hiring spree and is on the lookout for engineers, designers and finance experts who will help build the digital payments platform, X Money and facilitate AI training. The openings for data scientists, backend engineers and product designers exist across offices in Palo Alto, San Francisco and Memphis. Some of these roles are reportedly remote.

xAI is keen to hire engineers capable of explaining and presenting complex ideas with utmost clarity. Those who are pro-active and willing to take initiative will be preferred because such talent is meant for fast-paced work environments. Amongst the nice-to-have skills are, experience in detecting fraud, working with compliance frameworks, and familiarity with Golang, Kafka, Postgres and similar tools.

Only candidates who pass the screening and also complete the coding challenge will be able to participate in the design discussion and get a chance to present a project. Only then will there be a final round with an opportunity to meet the team. The whole hiring process will be completed in just a week. The company is looking to launch XMoney in 2025 itself. The native payments service is built into the X app and is being prepared for testing before a public launch.

It is reported that X will soon be enhanced with features that will allow users to send and receive money, make payments for services and also help with managing of finances. Simply put, X will soon become an app for everything and not just social media.
