Samsung, the consumer electronics company, has made pre-placement offers to the winners of the ninth edition of Samsung E.D.G.E. (short for Empowering Dreams Gaining Excellence). This campus programme takes place every year and offers thousands of brilliant young minds the opportunity to showcase their business acumen, strategic thinking and leadership skills.
Launched in 2016, the Samsung E.D.G.E. campus programme allows India’s finest talent to come forward and exchange meaningful insights and get a head-start in their careers.
This year was witness to more than 15,000 students from 40 premier institutes and colleges, as well as business schools participating in the programme. Students not only displayed their skills but engaged in insightful exchanges, embodying the spirit of innovation and collaboration. The finale was held in Gurugram, with JB Park, president and CEO, Samsung Southwest Asia and other senior leaders of Samsung India in attendance.
Out of the 5,713 teams that registered for Samsung E.D.G.E. this year, 1,432 were picked for the Campus Round, where they constructed executive case summaries through research and ideation. While 59 teams made it to the regional round, submitting and presenting detailed solutions, only the top eight went on to the national level. These finalists received one-on-one mentorship from Samsung leaders before they went on to present their final ideas.
The winning team at the national level won a cash prize of Rs 4.5 lakh, in addition to Samsung smartphones and pre-placement offers. A cash award of Rs 3 lakh was given to the first runner-up team, while Rs 1.5 lakh was given as prize money to the second runner-up.
JB Park, President and CEO, Samsung Southwest Asia, found it “exciting to witness the spirit of innovation and problem-solving thriving in these young minds.” He highlighted how “Samsung E.D.G.E. has continually empowered students, offering a platform to showcase their creative solutions for enhanced consumer experience” through the years.
