The edtech company will begin by hiring about 300 to 500 people for its new certificate and degree programmes in technology and management, in the first half of the year. It is looking for talent to fit roles in operations, academics, sales counselling, content development and marketing, at the senior and junior levels.
The platform has already managed to obtain talent from abroad and also tied up with startups in the niche skills space to hire trained talent for specialised roles.
The Company is adopting a creative and objective approach to acquiring talent, by focussing primarily on the skills of the candidates. It is also taking care to be more diverse and inclusive by offering opportunities to young mothers to be a part of its active workforce.
The firm posted a revenue run rate of $100 million in March. Having begun the year with almost one lakh users, it performed extraordinarily well by closing the year with a growth of a whopping 1.2 million, from across 160 countries. About 40 per cent of its business comes from international learners.
Although Great Learning’s blended learning programmes suffered due to the pandemic-related mobility restrictions, its online courses grew in popularity, helping business grow 250 per cent! Of this, about 150 per cent comes from international markets and the rest from India.
