With the spate of layoffs in recent times, it is no wonder that involuntary attrition rate has increased to 4.3 per cent in 2024, from four per cent in 2024. When it comes to employees opting to leave a company on their own, rather than being laid off, the figures have improved from 2022 to 2024. While voluntary attrition was 17 per cent in 2022, it dropped to 14.7 in 2023 and 12.6 in 2024. That means, more employees are trying to hold on to their jobs, realising the uncertainty that prevails in the job market and the economic environment.

Attrition rate in the manufacturing space dropped from 15.4 per cent in 2023 to 14 in 2024. It dropped marginally in the services space, from 19.9 per cent in 2023 to 19.2 in 2024.
