Rajesh Rai has been elevated to the position of senior vice president-people (APAC) at Global Logic. He was serving as vice president-people and India head HR since March of 2021.

An alumnus of Delhi University and XLRI Jamshedpur, Rajesh Rai began his professional journey as a senor consultant with Arthur Andersen, in 2001. Over two years later he moved to Ernst & Young as manager, human capital. He spent almost four years there gaining extensive exposure to large-scale change management, including organisation redesign and restructuring across companies in the public sector as well as the private.
February of 2007 saw Rajesh Rai taking up the role of manager-HR at Adobe Systems. For almost two years he successfully led the HR function for the company’s largest research and development centre in Noida, with 1,100 employees.

He moved to United Colours of Benetton India in December of 2008, as director (HR) India. Over three and a half years later, in July 2012, he joined Expedia as senior director, human resources. He set up the Expedia Technology

Centre in India and grew it from 15 employees to over 400.
Rai’s next stop was Eicher Motors, in May 2014, as chief people officer. Over a year and a half later, he began his association with Accenture.

He started off as vice president-human resources, leading field HR for the operations business of Accenture in Bangalore, Chennai and Sri Lanka, in January of 2016. Over five years into this role, he was elevated to director. Another promotion in 2019 made him director and head HR-Accenture corporate functions, consulting, digital and capability network. After spending over five years with Accenture, Rajesh Rai switched to GlobalLogic, a Hitachi Group company, taking up the role of VP-people and India head HR, in March 2021.

Now, with his elevation to senior vice president-people (APAC), he will focus on creating a ‘people first’ experience within GlobalLogic, which is an ‘AI first’ firm.

He will try to foster an employee experience resting on collaboration between human and machine to enhance value delivery across APAC and globally for the company’s people and clients.

He will be tasked with championing the people strategy for APAC with initiatives that prioritise employee engagement for Gen Z and customer satisfaction in a next gen innovative and disruptive technology-driven environment.

HRKatha wishes him all the best in this endeavour!
