Akash K J is now head of talent acquisition, Saint-Gobain Group in India. He was earlier head of human resources, Saint-Gobain Weber India, from October of 2023 to June of 2025.

This alumnus of the University of Madras and the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM_A), interned with Radisson Blu, Minda SAI, and Bajaj Auto in the initial years of his career before he joined Saint-Gobain India as a team member-human resources (sales, marketing and exports). Less than four years into this role, he was elevated to team member-human resources (learning and development), based out of Chennai. Nine months later came a promotion that put him in the role of team member-HR (digital transformation).

From December of 2019 to February of 2022 he played team member-human resources (information technology).
By the time he moved on to Saint-Gobain Weber he had become head of human resources and administration (regional IT and Indec 4.0), in 2023.

From October of 2023 onwards he was based out of Mumbai for well over a year, as part of the management committee developing the Mortars business for Saint-Gobain in India. Among other achievements, he developed and implemented HR strategies that aligned with the organisation’s goals and objectives. He provided guidance and support to senior management on HR-related issues and led the recruitment and onboarding processes to attract and retain top talent.

Now, in his new role as head of TA, he is spearheading the establishment of the Talent Acquisition Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Saint-Gobain India, driving the vision for a unified and future-ready hiring ecosystem. He is leading the design and implementation of a standardised, efficient and technology-driven recruitment process across all business entities to ensure consistency, agility, and excellence in talent outcomes.

HRKatha wishes Akash KJ all the best in this endeavour!
