NatWest Group India has appointed Ritu Tushir as head of HR, India. She moves from Northern Trust Corporation where she was head of HR, Asia Pacific Servicing Centres, after a four and a half year long association.
An alumna of Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi, Ritu Tushir served as manager-human resources at eGurucool for two years before joining Genpact as assistant manager-human resources, in March of 2002. Over two years into this role, she was elevated to manager-human resources. By the time she moved on from Genpact after a stint that lasted well over eight and a half years, she had reached the position of assistant vice president-human resources.
Tushir’s next stop was American Express where she served as director-human resources. From 2010 to 2014, she headed HR for the customer services & collections business, managing 4000 employees based out of India, Greater China & South East Asia.
June of 2014 saw Ritu Tushir joining Whirlpool as director-human resources. A short while later, she was appointed director-human resources at American Express, in December of 2014. Over four years into this role, she was elevated to vice president-human resources.
After a stint of almost seven years with American Express, Tushir took up the role of head of HR, Asia Pacific Servicing Centres, in October of 2021.
In her latest assignment at NatWest, she will be expected to head the bank’s people strategy across its operations in India. The country houses the Group’s largest employee base outside the UK, and it will be Tushir’s responsibility to ensure alignment with NatWest’s global HR vision while driving the India-specific transformation agenda.
Her priorities include building a future-ready workforce with capabilities in data, AI, cloud, and engineering; accelerating reskilling; and strengthening key cultural enablers such as recognition, wellbeing, experimentation, and DE&I. As a member of the India Leadership Committee, Ritu Tushir will also contribute to the strategic direction of the bank’s operations in the country.
She is looking forward to “building critical future skills, deepening the talent strategy, and embedding a culture where inclusion and accountability go hand in hand”.
