Vithal Acharya has joined Microland as chief human resources officer (CHRO). He was earlier with Stanton Chase India- Executive Search & Leadership Consultants as partner.
An alumnus of XLRI Jamshedpur Acharya served as a probationary officer -debt and risk control at ANZ Grindlays Bank for over a year and a half at the start of his professional journey, in 1997.
He then joined HCL Technologies as HR business partner in May of 2001. Over six years into this role, he was elevated to regional HR manager-SEA & HK (Singapore). In this role, he successfully led HR for South East Asia and Hong Kong, supporting 500+ employees. After over seven years with HCL Technologies, Acharya moved to GE, in 2008.
He entered GE as human resources manager for GE Aviation. Over three and a half years into this role, he was promoted to HR business partner (corporate functions), GE India Industrial. For the next three years and eight months he partnered with the group CFO to drive finance integration and functional identity across global operations among other responsibilities. July of 2014 saw him being promoted to HR business partner, South Asia, GE Water. From August of 2008 to August of 2016, as an HR leader, he led HR for GE’s digital, water, and aerospace divisions in India and South Asia. He contributed significantly to positioning India as a strategic innovation hub within GE Digital. After an eight-year long stint with GE, Acharya moved to Sterlite Power as chief people officer.
From September of 2016 to May of 2020, he played chief people officer, he designed organisational structures for four new business units among other achievements.
Ola Electric roped him in to head HR. In fact, from 2020 to 20204, he led HR across three high-growth startups, including Avataar.Me and Greaves Electric Mobility.
It was in July of 2024 that he joined Stanton Chase India.
In his new assignment at Microland, the AI-first, platform led, tech infrastructure services company, he will continue with his ability to recognise the strengths of his team members and help them grow.
