Axis Max Life Insurance (formerly Max Life Insurance) has announced the appointment of Mrinal Sinha as chief people officer (CPO), effective 1 July, 2026.
Sinha brings to the table over two decades of experience, having begun his professional journey way back in 2002, as a humble assistant manager-HR, at Polaris Software Labs. A year and ten months later, he moved to ICIC Bank, as chief manager-human resources. He was then zonal head-recruitments for a while before being elevated to zonal HR head-south zone. For over two years he successfully handled HR for the south zone with an employee base of over 15000 and over 700+ branches with a team size of more than 20.
In between, he spent over a year and a half in Toronto, Canada, as senior manager-human resources. By May of 2014, he was zonal head-North, working out of Delhi. He moved on from ICICI after a long tenure of over 11 years, to join Max Life Insurance as corporate vice president-HR, in November of 2015.
From August of 2017 to June of 2021, he was associated with Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance as SVP-head-HR business partnering, talent management & ER.
CARS24 roped him in for the role of chief human resources officer (CHRO) in June of 2021.
It was in January of 2023 that his association with Kotak Mahindra Bank began as executive vice president.
A year and five months into this role, he was promoted to senior executive vice president-head HR, retail liabilities and 811. Very soon came another promotion that made him senior executive vice president and head-HR, consumer bank.
In his new role at Axis Life, Mrinal Sinha will lead the Company’s people strategy, with a focus on building a digitally fluent workforce, strengthening leadership pipelines, and embedding a more agile and technology-enabled culture to support the Company’s next phase of growth.
