RateGain celebrates pride with open arms and open hiring

The company is upping its diversity game with a new hiring initiative focused on the LGBTQIA+ community

RateGain, a travel technology company known for its AI-powered solutions that streamline flights and hotel bookings, is taking a different kind of reservation this Pride Month – a reservation for a brighter future for LGBTQIA+ employees. The company recently announced a new hiring initiative in collaboration with Pride Circle and MyAvtar, organisations dedicated to expanding LGBTQIA+ representation in the workplace. But for RateGain, creating a diverse and inclusive environment goes beyond simply checking a box.

Throughout June, RateGain’s offices have been transformed into a vibrant celebration of Pride. The once-sterile break room shelves are now bursting with thought-provoking books such as ‘Diversity & Inclusion: Getting it Right’ and ‘equALLY: Stories by Friends of the Queer World’, sparking conversations that extend far beyond the workday. Employees have been treated to a heartfelt workshop led by Aarti Malhotra, a mother of a queer son, gaining valuable insights into the LGBTQIA+ experience. A podcast featuring LGBTQIA+ advocate Zainab Patel offered another platform for education and understanding. The celebratory spirit extends beyond the conference room walls, with colourful decorations adorning the office, engaging contests drumming up friendly competition, and a company-wide pride walk demonstrating RateGain’s commitment to visibility and inclusion.

These efforts are just a single piece of RateGain’s multifaceted #RGForAll puzzle. This framework champions diversity and inclusion through three distinct employee resource groups (ERGs). SHE@RateGain empowers women in the workforce, ensuring their voices are heard and their contributions are valued. PRISM@RateGain acts as a champion for LGBTQIA+ initiatives, fostering a safe and supportive space for employees of all identities. Finally, ME@RateGain celebrates the beauty of individuality, encouraging employees to bring their authentic selves to work without fear of judgment. No matter where someone comes from – APMEA, US, Europe, or LATAM – RateGain fosters a workplace where everyone feels valued and respected for their unique backgrounds and perspectives.

“At RateGain, we believe diversity is our strength,” says Sahil Sharma, global chief human resource officer, RateGain. This commitment extends far beyond the festivities of Pride Month. Initiatives such as ‘Diversity Dialogues – Allies for Change’ equip people managers and leaders with the tools and understanding necessary to create a truly inclusive work environment. Partnering with organisations such as the Naz Foundation and Arvey Aesthetic Foundation further solidifies RateGain’s dedication to building a welcoming space for everyone.

RateGain isn’t just booking dream vacations; they’re booking a future where everyone feels welcome, valued, and empowered to be themselves. This Pride Month, they’re proving that true hospitality starts at home, creating a ripple effect that extends far beyond the walls of their own offices. In a world that can often feel isolating for LGBTQIA+ individuals, RateGain is offering a beacon of hope, a promise of acceptance, and a chance to build a successful career while remaining true to oneself. It’s a message that resonates not just within the company, but throughout the travel industry, inspiring a new standard of inclusivity for all.
